NotebookLM has been useful in my teacher-led lessons for the research paper unit. As a teacher of students with accommodations for processing, writing, and reading disabilities, NotebookLM supports their human intelligence (HI) and information literacy skills (ILS). As they locate sources independently, they can download them to NotebookLM. Once they have enough sources for their research topic, they can use NotebookLM to create "notes" about each source or synthesize multiple sources. Students can utilize NotebookLM's responses to create their OWN paragraphs that answer the research question or fit the research topic. Students have found that NotebookLM eases their frustration and anxiety over the ILS, writing, and research processes, but they are still learning and applying their own HI along the way.
